Sunrisers Hyderabad head into IPL 2026 with a bowling attack that relies heavily on experience and variations in the death overs. With several proven options capable of handling pressure situations, SRH look better equipped to close out tight matches this season.
Harshal Patel stands out as SRH’s most reliable death-over bowler. Known for his slower balls, dipping yorkers and ability to deceive batters, Harshal has built a reputation for delivering breakthroughs in overs 16 to 20. His 16-wicket haul in IPL 2025 underlined his effectiveness in the closing stages of an innings.
Pat Cummins brings leadership and composure to SRH’s death bowling. While primarily used with the new ball, Cummins’ ability to hit hard lengths, bowl wide yorkers and maintain control allows him to be deployed in crunch moments at the back end.
Jaydev Unadkat offers experience and control in the final overs, especially on slower pitches. His cutters and change of pace make him a useful option when batters look to attack aggressively at the death.
Brydon Carse adds pace and bounce to the death-over mix. Often used as an Impact Player, Carse’s ability to hit the deck hard and extract extra bounce gives SRH a wicket-taking option when batters are forced to take risks late in the innings.
Eshan Malinga provides depth as a developing death-over option. While still gaining experience, his pace and aggression offer SRH flexibility across a long tournament.
With Harshal Patel leading the unit and strong support from Pat Cummins and Jaydev Unadkat, Sunrisers Hyderabad enter IPL 2026 with a death-bowling attack capable of defending totals and applying pressure in high-stakes situations.
