Top losers among Nifty 50 stocks in midday trades today, Feb 27: Dr. Reddy’s falls 2.8%, Bharti Airtel down 2.7%, Grasim Industries drops 2.5%

Indian benchmark indices were trading lower in midday deals on February 27, reflecting broad-based selling pressure across sectors. As of 12:15 PM IST, the Nifty 50 stood at 25,283.95, down 212.60 points or 0.83%, while the Sensex declined 595.12 points or 0.72% to 81,653.49. Bank Nifty slipped 463.50 points or 0.76% to 60,724.20.

Several frontline stocks from the Nifty 50 index were trading in the red, with pharmaceutical, telecom, cement, aviation and financial stocks featuring among the top losers.

Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories emerged as the top laggard in the index, trading at ₹1,281.90, down 2.8% compared to its previous close.

Bharti Airtel was also under pressure, falling 2.7% to ₹1,877.40.

Grasim Industries declined 2.5%, trading at ₹2,791.20 in midday trade.

HDFC Life Insurance slipped 2.3% to ₹716.90, while InterGlobe Aviation dropped 2.3% to ₹4,822.40.

Among other notable declines, Nestle India fell 2.2% to ₹1,289.10. Shriram Finance and SBI Life Insurance each declined 2.1%, trading at ₹1,081.10 and ₹2,038.80 respectively.

UltraTech Cement was down 2.0% at ₹12,677.00, while Tata Consumer Products also slipped 2.0% to ₹1,136.80.

The overall market sentiment remained weak during the session, with the Nifty 50 and Sensex both trading lower as of 12:15 PM IST on February 27.
