The Universiti Malaya (UM), one of the country’s top public universities, has suspended a professor for allegedly sending nude photos to several students.
Students at the school staged a protest last Friday to demand the school to take action, following a complaint sent to campus management regarding the alleged sexual harassment coming from a school staff, the South China Morning Post reported.
The school on Monday said it had suspended the professor in question to uphold its zero-tolerance policy on school misconduct.
The professor in question has also filed a police report over the incident, the Higher Education Ministry said. The ministry last Saturday ordered the school to conduct an investigation into the matter, The Star reported.
Exact details about the alleged incident, including the identities of the professor and affected students, have not been announced.
