Torture of heat in Bengaluru, temperature crosses 34 degrees before RCB vs GT match, know how the weather will be this evening
News India Live, Digital Desk: Today in the mega match of IPL 2026, the teams of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Gujarat Titans (GT) will face each other at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. But before sweating on the field, both the players and fans are suffering from the scorching heat of Bengaluru. Today, on 24th April, the temperature of the city is touching record high, which can have a big impact on the fitness and strategy of the players during the evening match.
Fire raining from the sky: sweat in the afternoon
Bengaluru, once known for its pleasant evenings, is today facing the harsh wrath of the sun. According to the Meteorological Department, today the maximum temperature is expected to be between 34 to 38 degrees Celsius. Heat like conditions prevail in the afternoon, due to which there is silence on the roads. Although, a slight drop in temperature may be recorded at the time of start of the match in the evening, but humidity will double the challenge for the players.
Will rain spoil the fun of the game?
A relief news for the fans going to watch the match is that there is little chance of rain today. According to meteorologists, the sky will be mainly clear and light winds may blow. The temperature during the match will be around 28 to 32 degrees Celsius. Due to the absence of rain, the spectators will get to see the thrill of the entire 40 overs, although the ‘dew factor’ (dew) can create problems for the team bowling in the second innings.
Heat and pitch equation in Chinnaswamy
Due to extreme heat, there may also be a change in the behavior of the pitch. The dry surface can prove to be helpful for the batsmen, due to which fans are expected to see a high-scoring match. The short boundary and fast outfield of the Chinnaswamy Stadium along with the hot winds will help in sending the ball further. Now it remains to be seen which team will hoist the flag of victory while keeping itself cool amidst this torture of summer.
