Kaimur: A painful road accident took place in Kaimur district of Bihar on Sunday morning. There was a massive collision between a bus going from Jamshedpur to Varanasi and a trolley truck going from Mohania to Sasaram on Delhi-Kolkata National Highway-19. In this accident, three people, including an innocent child, died on the spot, while dozens of passengers were seriously injured. The collision was so strong that the front part of the bus was completely damaged. Most of the passengers were sleeping at the time of the accident. There was screams all around the bus due to the sudden forceful collision. An injured passenger said that they were sleeping and there was chaos with the shock.

The bodies of the three people killed in the accident have been taken into custody by the police and sent to Sadar Hospital, where post-mortem will be conducted. An innocent child is included among the dead. According to preliminary information, all the deceased were residents of Uttar Pradesh. Police have started the process of identifying the dead bodies and the families are being informed.

In the initial investigation of the police, high speed and driver’s drowsiness are considered to be the main reasons for the accident. There is more vehicular movement on NH-19 at night and sometimes drivers lose alertness due to fatigue. However, the police have started a detailed investigation into the matter and the statements of the drivers of both the vehicles are being recorded. The forensic team has also reached the spot to find out the exact cause of the accident. Local resident Pintu Yadav said that after hearing the sound of the collision, he ran and informed the police and helped in evacuating the trapped people. Many lives could be saved due to the prompt action of villagers and police. However, this accident has once again raised serious questions regarding road safety on NH-19, where such accidents happen frequently.
