Airtel's new prepaid plans, know what are the changes and which users will benefit
Obnews Tech Desk: Airtel has made changes in its two prepaid recharge plans (₹509 and ₹1,999). This change has been made under the instructions of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). TRAI has instructed telecom companies to give priority to voice and SMS centric plans. The move is beneficial for users who primarily use calling and messaging and have low data requirements, such as 2G phone users and customers with dual SIM setups.
Details of Airtel's revised plans
Benefits of ₹509 plan:
- Voice calls: Unlimited.
- SMS: 900 messages.
- Validity: 84 days.
- Mobile Data: No data facility.
Additional benefits:
- Free access to Airtel Xstream app.
- Membership of Apollo 24/7 Circle.
- Hello Tunes feature.
- Alternative plan: ₹569 offers similar features, but includes 6GB data.
Benefits of ₹1,999 plan:
- Voice calls: Unlimited.
- SMS: 3,000 messages.
- Validity: 1 year.
- Mobile data: Data has been deleted.
Additional benefits:
- Free access to Airtel Xstream app.
- Membership of Apollo 24/7 Circle.
- Hello Tunes feature.
Additional charges on SMS:
- Local SMS: ₹1 per message.
- STD SMS: ₹1.5 per message.
