TRAI will implement new rules, mobile customers will get special plan for calling-SMS Gujarati

According to the telecom regulator, it is believed that there should be separate recharge coupons for calls and SMS. TRAI had received many views during the consultation process related to this. It is learned that many senior citizens and families with broadband in their homes do not require a separate data package for their mobile phones.

Telecom regulator TRAI amended the tariff rules and ordered mobile service providers to declare separate plans for voice calls and SMS for customers who do not use data.

With this move, users will have to pay only for the services they use normally. Not only this, the regulator has removed the 90-day limit on special recharge coupons and increased it to 365 days.

TRAI said in the Telecom Consumer Protection (Amendment) Regulations 2024 that, “The service provider must provide at least one specific tariff voucher for voice only and SMS, the validity of which does not exceed 365 days.”
