A statement from the makers said that the launch is not just about the trailer; It is a celebration of the film's legacy and fans' love for the franchise. The team behind “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3” aims to create an exciting atmosphere.
Directed by Anees Bazmee, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 will see Vidya Balan reprising her role as 'Munjulika', while Kartik Aryan will be seen as 'Rooh Baba'. The film is scheduled to release in theaters during Diwali, November 1, 2024.
“Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3” is the third installment of the franchise of the same name, following “Bhool Bhulaiyaa” in 2007 and “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2” in 2022. In the film, Rooh Baba enters a haunted mansion in Kolkata and confronts Manjulika, a vengeful spirit.
The film is a Hindi remake of the Malayalam film 'Manichitrathazhu' directed by Fazil, father of Malayalam superstar Fahadh Fazil. On September 27, the makers of “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3” released the teaser, which gave an exciting glimpse of the film's story and hair-raising moments.
The one minute 46 second teaser begins with a throne scene, with Kartik's voice saying, “Do you think the story is over? Doors close only to open again one day.”
The video then shows Vidya Balan's iconic character, 'Manjulika', lifting the throne with one hand with ease, before Kartik enters the 'Rooh Baba' avatar.
The teaser also featured actress Tripti as Kartik's love interest. The characters of Rajpal Yadav, Sanjay Mishra and Ashwini Kalsekar were also shown in the clip. The video ends with Kartik's dialogue: “Ek number ki daayan hai woh… Bhootni, chudail, pishaach comes as soon as she sees blood”.
Kartik had shared the video on his Instagram and captioned it: “Kya laga kahani khatam ho gayi!! Rooh Baba vs Manjulika…this Diwali…teaser out now!! Epic horror adventure this Diwali from #BhoolBhulaiyaa3.” is triggered.
