Training lapses, order to suspend 2 directors of Akasa Air
Delhi. Delhi. Aviation safety regulator DGCA on Friday ordered suspension of Akasa Air's operations director and training director for six months for alleged lapses in training of pilots. Two senior executives of the Rakesh Jhunjhunwala family-owned airline were booked for non-compliance with civil aviation requirements. have “failed” to ensure safety, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said in its two separate orders dated December 27.

Issuing the suspension order, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said: “The regulatory audit conducted by DGCA on October 7, 2024 at M/s SNV Aviation Pvt Ltd (Akasa Air), Mumbai, has found that the RNP Training (Approach) on such simulators is being conducted on those who are not eligible… which is a violation of Paragraph 7 of CAR Section 7, Series D, Part VI.” Stating that The Director of Operations and Director of Training at Akasa Air “failed to ensure compliance with Civil Aviation Requirements (CAR)”, the DGCA said, adding that both officials “failed to adequately train employees… as well as related to the training Repeated lapses/violations have been found”.
