New Delhi : People of India are experts in traveling within the country as well as abroad. India is also not behind other countries in terms of tourism. A report has come out regarding India's tourism. On the basis of this report, it has been found that this year i.e. in the year 2024, an increase has been seen in the matter of voluntary travel among the international travelers of India. It has been said in this report that more than half of these people have made last-minute travel plans a week before departure.
The travel report prepared by travel-banking fintech platform Neo highlights the changing mindset of Indian travellers, who are embracing flexibility, prioritizing experiences and benefiting from streamlined travel processes.

According to the report, it has been found that 48 percent of the international flights booked by Indians this year were booked within just 7 days of the journey. This trend was supported by easier travel access, where 58 countries provided visa-free or visa on arrival options to Indian passport holders.

While many travelers booked international flights at short notice, '30 per cent of visa applications' were submitted 16-30 days before travel, indicating a certain level of preparation, the report says. Dubai, by far the most preferred destination for Indian travellers, attracted '45 per cent' of holidaymakers with its luxurious shopping and entertainment, according to the report. Second on the list was Vietnam, known for its culture and natural beauty, which attracted 15 percent of the travelers. A smaller number of travelers chose Oman and Japan (one percent each).
Pop culture also had a significant impact on the travel choices of Indians this year. For example, web series like 'Emily in Paris' inspired many Indian women to travel to France, with 30 per cent of Indians choosing France as their destination. This was followed by Britain (29 percent) and Singapore (26 percent).
