Trump again threatens Iran’s Supreme Leader Khamenei
Donald Trump’s threat: US President Donald Trump has once again threatened Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Trump says that Khamenei’s 37-year rule is about to end and the time has come for new leadership in Iran. Trump also said in his statement on Saturday that Khamenei has completely destroyed Iran and now his rule must end.
Situation of violence and demonstrations in Iran
More than 5,000 people have died so far in the violent protests taking place in Iran. There are reports of dead bodies piling up outside mortuaries in Tehran. Incidents of arson and violence are being seen in most of the states of Iran. Trump described the violence as a result of Khamenei’s leadership and alleged that Khamenei had turned Iran into hell.
Trump’s attack on Khamenei’s leadership
“The best decision Khamenei ever made was his decision not to execute more than 800 people,” Trump said. He said that Khamenei has taken Iran under his control through violence and repression. Trump further said that Iran’s leadership is not being run through respect, but through fear and death, which is not good for any country.
Khamenei’s counterattack
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei hit back at Trump’s statement and held him responsible for the deaths and protests in Iran. Khamenei termed Trump a criminal and said that Trump is responsible for whatever is happening in Iran. Khamenei also said that they had completely destroyed the conspiracies in Iran.
Number of deaths and arrests in Iran
More than 5,000 people have died so far during protests in Iran, including most of the protesters. Apart from this, more than 200 security personnel and other government employees have also been killed in this violence. More than 10,000 people have been arrested, but the actual number of arrests has not been revealed yet. This number is said to be more than those killed during the Islamic Revolution of 1979.
