Trump Peace Prize: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced after a meeting with US President Donald Trump in Florida that Trump will be given Israel’s highest civilian honor, the Israel Peace Prize. This award is being given to a foreign national for the first time in the last 80 years and is the first honor in the peace category. Trump described this honor as unexpected and very commendable.

Netanyahu said the award would be given to Trump for his contributions to Israel and the Jewish community. This announcement was made after bilateral talks at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida. Regarding this, Trump said that this award was very surprising to him and he feels honored by it. Trump also praised Netanyahu for helping Israel and fighting terrorism.

Israel Peace Prize will be given to Trump

The Israel Peace Prize was previously awarded to Israeli citizens for their contributions to the sciences, arts, and humanities, but is now open to foreign citizens as well. In July 2025, Israel changed the rules of the award, after which Trump could receive this award. According to CNN, Trump may attend Israel’s Independence Day celebration to receive the award.

Israeli Education Minister Yoav Kitsch informed Trump about this decision over the phone. Trump indicated that he would consider attending the ceremony. Trump and Netanyahu also discussed the second phase of the Gaza peace plan, disarmament of Hamas and West Bank issues. However, Trump said that there are differences between the two leaders on the West Bank, but he is confident that talks will continue and an agreement can be reached.
