Trump called India ‘hell’, Indians got very angry due to his derogatory statement

America’s President Donald Trump is once again in the midst of controversies. This time he has shared extremely objectionable and derogatory comments against countries like India and China. Trump has reposted a letter from American radio host Michael Savage, in which India has been called ‘Hellhole’ i.e. ‘gateway to hell’. This letter has not only said racist things, but has also advocated changing the citizenship law of America.

A fight broke out over the citizenship law

In fact, in America these days there is a debate going on in the Supreme Court regarding birthright citizenship. Radio host Michael Savage wrote a long note on this issue, which Trump shared on his social media platform. Savage has demanded that the provision of giving citizenship on the basis of birth to the children of non-citizens should be abolished. He argued that this big issue should not be decided by any court, but through nationwide voting (referendum).

‘They call the entire family from India’ – disputed claim

In this letter, Savage used very strong words and claimed that people from other countries come to America only so that they can immediately acquire citizenship by ‘having a child in the ninth month’. He wrote that “a child born here immediately becomes a citizen and then they bring their entire family here from China, India or any other hellhole in the world.” After Trump shared this, huge resentment is being seen in the Indian community.

Called Indian and Chinese immigrants as ‘gangsters with laptops’

Not only this, in this letter objectionable words like ‘Laptop Gangsters’ have been used for Indian and Chinese immigrants. Savage alleged that these people had insulted the American flag. He also accused the current system of ‘birth tourism’ and misuse of government schemes (welfare). Savage says that according to today’s times, the American Constitution has become outdated and there is a dire need for change in it.

Trump’s claims and ground reality

Donald Trump shared this post on his platform ‘Truth Social’ a day after his statement in which he had claimed that apart from America, no country in the world gives citizenship on the basis of birth. However, this claim of Trump is not completely correct. The reality is that about three dozen (36) countries in the world offer birthright citizenship, including Canada, Mexico, and most of the countries in South America.
