Trump Board of Peace Event: US President Donald Trump has once again taken credit for reducing tensions between India and Pakistan, the two nuclear powered countries of South Asia. ‘Board of Peace’ Speaking at a program, Trump claimed that it was only because of his diplomatic intervention and economic threats that a major war between these two countries could be averted.

Both countries wanted to fight, 11 jets were shot down

Trump told in the program that when the war between India and Pakistan was at its peak, planes (jets) of both the countries were being shot down. He said that the war was in full swing. Planes were being shot down. 11 jets were shot down, which was very expensive. According to Trump, both sides wanted to fight but he spoke to Prime Minister Modi and Pakistani PM on phone and warned them.

Threat of 200% tariffs and cancellation of trade deal

Revealing his method of stopping the war, Trump said that he had threatened to cause trade injury to both the countries. He said that I told them that if you guys could not resolve this then I would not do a trade deal with both of you. Trump further claimed that he threatened to impose 200 percent tariff on both the countries, after which a sudden agreement was reached and the war stopped.

Claim to save 2.5 crore lives

Trump quoted the Pakistani Prime Minister as saying that he had saved the lives of about 25 million people by stopping the war between India and Pakistan. Referring to PM Modi, Trump said that he knows him very well and when it came to losing a lot of money, both the countries decided not to fight.

10 billion fund for United Nations and peace board

During this program, Trump also made a big announcement for global peace. He said that America is going to contribute ₹10 billion ($10 billion) to the United States Board of Peace. Trump also made it clear that he will work closely with the United Nations (UN) and ensure that the UN’s facilities and financial condition are improved so that it becomes even stronger.
