‘Trump has not ordered exemption…’, Congress angry over 30 day extension

The Strait of Hormuz has been closed amid continuous attacks in the countries of Western Asia. Iran has said that only Chinese ships will be able to pass through this route. This means that if this situation continues then there may be a shortage of oil in India. Meanwhile, America has said that it is giving 30 days time to India to buy oil from Russia. Till now there is no reaction from the Indian Government on such announcement by any other country regarding India. On this issue, the opposition Congress has cornered the Modi government and said that now Donald Trump is deciding India’s foreign policy and he is not giving exemptions but orders.

Modi government is surrounded from all sides due to Donald Trump’s statements ranging from Operation Sindoor to the attack on Iran. Donald Trump said many times that he got the ceasefire done and he stopped Narendra Modi. Congress had also created a lot of ruckus in the Parliament regarding this. Due to this, Congress is raising the slogan ‘PM is compromised’ these days and it is expected that there may be a lot of uproar regarding this in the second phase of the budget session also.

Congress got angry

Congress leader Udit Raj has cornered the Modi government and said, ‘No relaxation has been given but orders have been given to buy oil for 30 more days. Now there is no doubt that Trump is our creator, Trump decides our foreign policy. Now gradually our domestic policy is also going to be adversely affected. They are also deciding. Now there is no doubt in this.

At the same time, Jairam Ramesh has written, ‘Trump’s new game, told Delhi friend, you can take oil from Putin, how long will this American blackmail last?’

What is the matter?

Earlier, US Finance Minister Scott Besant had posted on ‘X’ and said, ‘To continue the availability of oil in the international market, the Finance Department is giving a temporary exemption of 30 days to Indian refineries to buy Russian oil. India is an important partner of the US and we fully expect New Delhi to accelerate its purchases of US oil. This short-term solution will reduce the pressure caused by Iran’s attempt to hold global energy hostage. Let us tell you that at present there has been no response from the Government of India regarding this.

In fact, America repeatedly told India not to buy oil from Russia. After this it has been seen that Indian oil companies have almost stopped buying oil from Russia and have started buying oil from Venezuela. Now that Iran has closed the Strait of Hormuz and there is a possibility of oil shortage across the world, America has made a new announcement for India.
