Trump talks with PM Modi on West Asia amid war with Iran, Strait of Hormuz also discussed

New Delhi. This is the first conversation between PM Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump during the war. Giving this information on X, PM Modi said that President Trump had called and during the conversation there was a useful exchange of views on the situation in West Asia.

Modi said India supports reducing tensions and restoring peace as soon as possible. Ensuring that the Strait of Hormuz remains open, safe and accessible is vital for the entire world. We agreed to remain in touch with each other regarding efforts towards peace and stability.

There was talk between the two leaders regarding the Strait of Hormuz.

US Ambassador Sergio Gore said, ‘President Donald Trump just spoke to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They discussed the current situation in the Middle East, stressing the importance of keeping the Strait of Hormuz open. Earlier, Trump had said on social media that he has extended the deadline given to Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz located between the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. He also said that a possible attack on Iran’s energy sites has been postponed for five days.
