Trump’s claim: Iranian drone attack targeted Indian ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

New Delhi, June 12. US President Donald Trump has alleged that Iran carried out drone attacks on Indian ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz. He described the incident as ‘completely unacceptable’ and accused Tehran of acting in bad faith amid ongoing tensions in the region.

Donald Trump criticized Iran over the leaked details of the talks in a post on ‘Truth Social’ and claimed that the country’s statements have ‘nothing to do with the truth’. He also said that the drone attack targeting Indian ships passing through strategic waterways had been ‘completely foiled’. He also asked Iran to improve its behavior as soon as possible.

These words of Trump have come amid increased maritime tension in the Gulf of Oman regarding commercial ships belonging to India. On Friday, India summoned US Chargé d’Affaires Jason Meeks and lodged a strong protest over the repeated attacks by US naval forces on commercial ships carrying Indian sailors.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), these incidents have resulted in the death of three Indian nationals and have raised serious concerns over the safety of civilians in the region. India has expressed its opposition to the use of lethal force against commercial vessels and called for measures to prevent civilian casualties.

Although Trump accused Iranian drone attacks on Indian ships, Indian officials have not independently confirmed any such incident. The official statement of the Ministry of External Affairs expressed concern over the attacks related to the actions of the US Navy and reiterated the need to ensure maritime security and protection of civilian navigation in the Gulf region.
