The MPs and top leaders of the Republican Party had till now avoided openly opposing Trump’s policies. They are now taking a rebellious stance against their own government. These voices of protest rising from within their own party in both houses of the US Parliament have become a big political headache for the Trump administration.

During the last few weeks, several factions of the Republican Party in the Senate and House of Representatives have dealt a tough blow to President Trump’s policies. Republican lawmakers have not only sharply criticized Trump’s aggressive war policy towards Iran but also rejected the huge funding of one billion dollars related to the White House Ballroom.

On Thursday, the House of Representatives passed a major bill related to providing military and financial aid to Ukraine as well as imposing new tough sanctions on Russia. Trump is strongly against this move and there are speculations that he may use his prerogative to stop this bill.

Political experts believe that this group of dissenters within the party mostly includes those leaders. Whom Trump himself had removed from their posts in the past. Now this angry group can prove to be a major obstacle to Trump’s biggest and most ambitious plans till the upcoming election day.

The opposition party i.e. the Democrats have a slightly different stance on this entire incident. Democratic leaders have rejected the possibility of any major ‘revolt’ within the Republican Party. He clearly says that there is no solid evidence to prove that the entire Republican Party is united to oppose Donald Trump on major national issues.

Democrat Senator John Fetterman sarcastically said that those who are taking a different path from Trump today were actually shown the way out of the system by Trump himself. On the other hand, on the condition of anonymity, a senior White House official has termed this resentment of Republican leaders as mere election-year politics. The purpose of which is to present its independent image among the voters.
