Trump’s tough decision, entry into America more difficult
Trump Expands Travel Ban: Former US President Donald Trump has once again taken a tough stance on immigration. The Trump administration has added 5 more countries to the travel ban list. With this, the number of countries whose citizens have found it extremely difficult or almost impossible to enter America has now increased to more than 30. This decision is being linked to America’s internal security.
What is the reason behind increasing the travel ban?
In a statement issued by the White House, it has been said that this step has been taken keeping in mind the security of America. The administration believes that adequate and reliable information is not available about citizens coming from some countries. Problems like fake documents, corruption and weak criminal record systems have come to light in many places, which makes it difficult to conduct proper background checks.
Increased strictness after recent attack
This decision became more stringent after the attack on two National Guard soldiers over Thanksgiving weekend. The accused of this attack was said to be an Afghan citizen, after which American security agencies raised questions on the visa and immigration verification process. After this, the government decided that restrictions would be tightened on the citizens of countries from where there is a possibility of danger.
Which countries were completely banned?
According to the new list, entry of citizens of Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, South Sudan and Syria into America has been completely stopped. Apart from these, countries like Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen are already included in this list, from where it is almost impossible to go to America.

Which countries are subject to partial restrictions?
Partial travel ban has been imposed on some countries. This means that citizens of these countries can go to America only under selected visa categories. Burundi, Cuba, Togo and Venezuela were already included in this list. Now countries like Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Benin, Ivory Coast, Dominica, Gabon, Gambia, Malawi, Mauritania, Nigeria, Senegal, Tanzania, Tonga, Zambia and Zimbabwe have also been added to it.
