This meat melts in the mouth easily and is prepared using a slow cooking method. A hot and tasty mutton dish is enough to cheer up everyone's mood. 1 kilogram mutton

1 garlic

4 medium sized chopped onions

1 tbsp turmeric

4 green cardamoms

6 cloves

1 handful coriander leaves

water as required

6 green chillies

2 inches ginger

6 tbsp refined oil

1 tbsp red chilli powder

1 tbsp cumin

3 tbsp coriander seeds

2 tbsp salt

Step 1 Marinate the Chicken Pieces

To make this recipe, take a large mixing bowl and add the washed mutton pieces. Then, add 1 tbsp refined oil, 1 tbsp turmeric, 1 tbsp red chilli powder. Mix all the ingredients together and salt. Let the mixture marinate for 30-45 minutes.

Step 2 Grind the raw spices and other ingredients separately

Now, take a food processor, and add 3 cardamoms, 6 cloves, 1 tbsp cumin, 1 tbsp coriander seeds, 1 tbsp black pepper and 5-6 garlic cloves. Grind them together and keep aside. Next, grind 6 green chillies, 8-9 garlic cloves, ginger, 2 tbsp oil and a handful of coriander along with salt.

Step 3 Fry the onions and prepare the gravy

Take a pan on medium flame and heat the remaining oil in it. When the oil is hot enough, add chopped onion and fry until it becomes semi-translucent. Then, add the ground masala powder (step 2) and some water.

Step 4 Add marinated mutton and adjust salt

Cook until the oil starts separating from the spices, and then add the marinated mutton pieces. Fry the mixture, adjust salt and water. Now, add the other ground ingredients prepared in step 2.

Step 5 Cover and cook for 45-60 minutes

Cover the lid and let it cook for 45-60 minutes and then take it out in a serving dish. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and enjoy the delicious Tikri Masala with roti or rice.
