Tuktuki CEO and Founder Anshita Kulshrestha honored as ‘Emerging Leader in Micro-drama’ at ET Inspiring Women Leaders Awards 2026
With micro-drama emerging as a rapidly evolving sector in the digital entertainment landscape, Tuktuki Entertainments stands out as one of India’s first homegrown platforms exclusively dedicated to the micro-drama format. Behind this idea is its CEO and Founder, Anshita Kulshrestha, who was recently honored as ‘Emerging Leader in Microdrama’ at the ET Inspiring Women Leaders Awards 2026 in Gurgaon. She received the award in the specialized category of micro-drama, recognizing her efforts in establishing TukTuki Entertainments. The award was presented by Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor.
What is Tuktuki’s micro-drama model?
In the hustle and bustle of busy life, short videos have become one of the most popular formats, allowing people to quickly scroll through content on their devices. As attention spans get shorter and audiences look for content that feels authentic and shareable, short videos have become a powerful form of cultural expression.
Tuktuki is based on a micro-drama model designed for on-the-go viewing, offering a one-hour-long film told through one- to three-minute episodes in a vertical-only format.
Tuktuki offers Indian short dramas and web series that people can access easily, even in a fast-paced life. With quick, high-impact episodes, Tuktuki covers genres like comedy, thriller, action, and romance – all designed to fit into your routine.
Tuktuki’s micro-dramas are easy to watch and tailored for those who enjoy quick entertainment.
Micro-dramas’ popularity on the rise
Short-form video platforms draw more than 68% of their users from tier-2 and tier-3 cities like Jaipur, Patna, Kanpur, and Lucknow. Interestingly, 40% of viewers are women. These audiences, previously underserved by Bollywood and mainstream OTT platforms, are now discovering stories tailored to their viewing habits and cultural contexts.
Notably, the sector has grown from nearly zero in 2022 to a $400–500 million industry. Micro-dramas are designed for the “fragmented moments” of everyday Indian life – like a crowded train commute, a quick lunch break, or a few minutes before bed. Their success in India isn’t just about shorter attention spans; it’s also about how relatable and accessible they are.
Thanking for the award, Tuktuki’s CEO & Founder, Anshita Kulshrestha, said, “The essence of real Indian culture lies in Tier 2 and Tier 3 towns, which form the true core of our heritage. Since its inception, Tuktuki’s motto has been to provide quality, family-oriented content, and we have been fairly successful in achieving this. This commitment has helped us stand apart from our competitors.”
