TV actor Yogesh Mahajan dies due to cardiac arrest at 42

New Delhi: TV actor Yogesh Mahajan tragically passed away on January 19 following a sudden cardiac arrest. He was best known for his role as Shukracharya in Shiv Shakti – Tap Tyag Tandav. For the unversed, Yogesh was found unconscious in his Umergaon flat after failing to show up on set, prompting his concerned crew members to break into his home.

Yogesh Mahajan passes away due to cardiac arrest

Yogesh was a familiar face in Indian television, having worked in shows like Adaalat, Jai Shri Krishna, Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat, and God of Devon…Mahadev. He was also celebrated for his performances in Marathi films like Mumbaiche Shahane and Samsarachi Maya.

The late actor is survived by his wife and their seven-year-old son. In an interview with India Today, his co-star Akangsha Rawat spoke about the loss and shared, “He was such a lively person with a great sense of humour. We have been shooting together for more than a year. At the moment, we are all shocked.”

Actress Suzanne Bernert, who worked closely with Yogesh on Shiv Shakti, expressed her grief. “I can’t believe it. Such a wonderful human being and actor. Off camera, he was always positive and fun. It’s heartbreaking,” she shared. The actress further recounted their deep conversations and travel memories and told The Times of India, “Om Shanti, my friend. My heart goes out to his family.”

Yogesh Mahajan’s last rites were held today (January 20) at Gorari-2 crematorium near Pragati High School, Borivali West, Mumbai. Friends, family, and colleagues gathered to bid a tearful farewell to the beloved actor.
