While on one hand fans are praising the visuals, on the other hand a mysterious tweet by veteran filmmaker Sanjay Gupta has created a stir on the internet. The post ‘Khoda Pahad, Nikla Chuha’ written by him started being directly linked to this grand film of Nitesh Tiwari. Seeing the growing controversy, Sanjay Gupta himself has broken his silence and clarified his position on this entire matter. Was that controversial comment about Ranbir’s Ramayana? When Sanjay Gupta posted this phrase on social media, netizens immediately linked it to the teaser of ‘Ramayana’. The main reason behind this was that there were mixed reactions regarding the teaser. However, in a recent interview, Sanjay Gupta completely rejected these claims. He said in clear words that his comment was not about ‘Ramayana’ at all. He made it clear that people are making wrong assumptions and he does not want to escalate the issue by talking too much. The controversy over the taunt and deleted post on the Oscar winning company was not limited to just one tweet. Sanjay Gupta had made another post, which he later deleted. That post read, “VFX companies don’t win Oscars, technicians do.” This thing added fuel to the fire, because the VFX of ‘Ramayana’ is being done by ‘DNEG’ company, which has won Oscar many times. People considered this a direct attack on the quality of the film, but the filmmakers are now calling all these things as mere coincidences. Ranbir had given up his hopes to become Maryada Purushottam. Ranbir Kapoor himself has revealed that initially he was very skeptical about playing the role of Lord Ram. He felt that he would not be able to do justice to this great character. According to Ranbir, the change in his life and thinking after the birth of his daughter Raha gave him the strength to accept this role. He took the help of Ramanand Sagar’s classic ‘Ramayana’ for his preparation and tried to imbibe the qualities of Shri Ram – compassion, courage and religion. This film, being made under the direction of Nitish Tiwari with a huge budget of Rs 4000 crore and an army of stars, is being said to be the most expensive film in the history of Indian cinema. According to producer Namit Malhotra, the total budget of both parts of the film is around Rs 4000 crore. The casting in the film is also very strong; Along with Ranbir Kapoor (Ram), Sai will be seen as Pallavi (Sita), Yash (Ravana), Sunny Deol (Hanuman) and Ravi Dubey (Lakshman). The first part of the film is all set to hit the screens on Diwali this year, while the second part will release on Diwali next year.
