When Siddharth Dave expressed displeasure over media reports and said that the entire statement recorded under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) was published in today’s newspaper, Solicitor General (SG) Tushar Mehta said, “And Twisha’s mother-in-law Giribala Singh, is giving interviews on various channels and making defamatory statements about her daughter-in-law.”

Responding to Siddharth Dave’s argument, Chief Justice Suryakant said that we are against creating any narrative, hence the responsibility of this investigation has been entrusted to the CBI. Also, Suryakant has appealed not to talk to the friends or relatives of both the parties related to this matter.

Meanwhile, public prosecutor Mehta, several attempts were made to record the statement of Giribala Singh, but she was not ready to answer. His mother-in-law claimed that she was not cooperating with the investigation. Giribala’s lawyers objected to it, saying, “Mehta’s claim is wrong and such things should not be discussed here. Senior advocate Siddharth Luthra, representing the victim’s family, told the court that the FIR was filed three days after the incident. Not only this, there was carelessness in keeping the evidence safe. Giribala Singh is submitting his own call data record, which is not allowed. Public prosecutor Tushar Mehta informed the court that Twisha’s second post-mortem was conducted on Sunday by a team from AIIMS, Delhi, as per the direction of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
