Twisha Sharma case: Supreme Court said – the incident is unfortunate, impartial investigation is necessary
New Delhi, 25 May. In the Twisha Sharma case, the Supreme Court took suo motu hearing. During this, the Madhya Pradesh government informed the bench headed by Chief Justice (CJI) Surya Kant that the investigation of the case will be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). During the hearing, the Supreme Court appealed to the media and both the parties involved in the case to avoid making any kind of statements in the media. The court said that different types of narratives are being created regarding the case, which can affect the impartial investigation.
CJI Surya Kant said, “Do not go by the statements of the victim’s family or other families. Otherwise, a section is saying that the judiciary is not allowing a fair trial. We have no doubt on our state agencies or the CBI. This is just because a kind of narrative is being created.” He further said that the court will ensure that this unfortunate incident is investigated impartially and without any discrimination. After this comment of the Supreme Court, the discussion regarding the matter has intensified in political and social circles.
Solicitor General said – CBI will take over the investigation
Solicitor General (SG) assured the Supreme Court that CBI will take over the investigation of Twisha case today itself. Meanwhile, senior advocate Siddharth Luthra, appearing for the Twisha family, expressed displeasure over the delay in registering the FIR. He raised questions regarding the investigation process.

Twisha Sharma’s family has made serious allegations against her in-laws and said that her husband and mother-in-law are responsible for their daughter’s death.
