Twisha’s skin tissue found on belt, AIIMS submits 11 page report to CBI

The investigation into the death of actress and model Twisha Sharma has taken a new turn. The medical board of Delhi’s All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has submitted its 11-page forensic report to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in a sealed cover. The report has not been made public but according to sources, such scientific findings have emerged which can give a new direction to the investigation of the case.

According to sources, skin tissue has been found in the forensic examination of the gymnastics belt which was used for hanging. Initial investigation has also revealed that the metal ring and other parts on the belt could be related to the injury marks found on Twisha Sharma’s neck. However, the report has not concluded whether it was a case of suicide, abetment of suicide or murder.

The belt did not reach the first postmortem.

The gymnastics belt has been the most controversial piece of evidence in the case from the beginning. Twisha’s family alleged that the belt used was not shown to the doctors during the first postmortem examination. Due to this, the doctors could not scientifically match the marks found on the neck and the size, shape and metal ring of the belt. At the same time, Bhopal Police had admitted that the belt was seized by the forensic team but could not reach the hospital on time. The police claimed that the belt was later sent for testing and it did not affect the investigation, although the family did not agree with this claim.

CBI will now connect the links of the incident

After receiving the report of AIIMS, CBI will now try to understand the last moments of the incident on a scientific basis. The investigating agency will find out the circumstances under which Twisha Sharma died at her in-laws house in Bhopal on May 12 and whether the recovered belt was actually used to hang herself. The report is being considered an important link in the investigation but the final conclusion will come only after a complete investigation by CBI and medical opinion.
