Two new metro lines to be launched in Mumbai by the end of December
There is a big relief news for lakhs of passengers of Mumbai. Some parts of the city’s two new important metro lines may start by the end of December this year. After the recent launch of Metro-3 (Aqua Line), now with the launch of these two new lines, the travel of the city residents will become more comfortable and faster.
Can be launched by 31st December
According to information received from MMRDA, Mumbai Metro Line-9 can start between Dahisar East to Kashigaon and Metro Line-2B can start between Diamond Garden to Mandalay. This will be the first phase of both the metro lines. Line-9 is expected to be approved by the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) soon.
Let us tell you that Metro Line-9 has been added by expanding Metro Line-7. This fully elevated metro route will start from Dahisar East and further provide direct connectivity to Mira-Bhayandar. Presently Metro Line-7 runs from Gundawali to Dahisar East.
With the commencement of Line-9, there will be direct connectivity from West Mumbai to Thane, which will save time for passengers. This line is 13.58 kilometers long.
Mumbai Metro 2B
The construction work of Metro Line 2B between DN Nagar and Mandalay is going on at a fast pace. As the first phase of this metro line, the 5.3 km long section between Mandalay to Diamond Garden in Chembur has been ready and trials are currently going on.
At the same time, under the second phase of Metro Line-2B, metro service is likely to start between DN Nagar and Saraswat Nagar (Khar) by the middle of next year. After this, only the third phase will be left, in which Saraswat Nagar will be connected to Diamond Nagar. There will be 20 stations on the 23.6 km long Metro 2B line.
