Two players are standing equal to Virat Kohli in Vijay Hazare Trophy, who will come out ahead?
Veteran batsman Virat Kohli is making waves in the current season of Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT), the List-A tournament of Indian domestic cricket. While playing for Delhi, Kohli has so far scored 208 runs in two matches at a strike rate of 128.39. He played an inning of 131 runs in 101 balls in the first match against Andhra. After this he scored 77 runs in 61 balls against Gujarat.
Kohli is at sixth place in the list of batsmen who have scored the most runs in VHT 2025-26. At the top of this list is Devdutt Padikkal (271 runs). Whereas in terms of hitting the most number of fours, Kohli is on top along with two batsmen Dhruv Shorey and Shubham Khajuria. These three have 27-27 fours in their names.

Who will come out ahead?
Virat Kohli will now be busy in the 3-match ODI series against New Zealand starting from January 11. In such a situation, there is little possibility of his appearing in the upcoming matches of VHT. In view of this, Dhruv Shorey of Vidarbha and Shubham Khajuria of Jammu and Kashmir are certain to overtake him. Shikhar Mohan of Jharkhand has also hit 24 fours, while Yashvardhan Dalal of Haryana has hit 23 fours.
Except Kohli, all these batsmen are likely to play the entire season of VHT. In such a situation, there will be an interesting competition between them to become the batsman who hits the most fours. However, Devdutt Padikkal (22 fours) is also not far behind. Given the form Padikkal is in, it should not be a surprise if he finishes on top at the end of the season.
