Two terrorists killed in Anantnag encounter Jammu-Kashmir News In Hindi: Two terrorists were killed in an encounter between security forces and terrorists on Saturday in Larnu area of Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir. Officials said the encounter took place near Halkan Gali in Shangas-Larnu area of South Kashmir district.
According to the official, both the slain terrorists were involved in the killing of Territorial Army soldier Hilal Ahmed Bhat. It is noteworthy that Bhat had gone missing in the first week of October. Later, security forces recovered the bullet-riddled body of the missing soldier from Anantnag.
The Indian Army has confirmed the killing of two terrorists in a joint operation with Jammu and Kashmir Police in a post on social media. It said security forces noticed a suspicious activity near Halkan Gali after which they launched a massive search operation. “The terrorists opened indiscriminate fire on their own troops. Our troops retaliated effectively, resulting in the killing of two terrorists. The operation is ongoing,” it said.
News agency PTI quoted officials as saying that two terrorists have been killed in this encounter with security forces, one of whom is a local and the other a foreign national. It is not yet known which terrorist group he was a member of.
