Type 2 Toyota Fortuner With Spartan Body Kit Looks Butch Yet Beautiful [Video]
Toyota Fortuner is an extremely popular SUV in its segment. It has been ruling this segment for over a decade. Just like any Toyota product, the Fortuner is also popular among buyers for its reliability and capabilities. That is one of the major reasons why many people who own the older-generation model are still using it instead of upgrading. It is extremely tough to find a replacement for a Fortuner in that segment. What many people have been doing lately is restoring their older-generation Fortuner to make it look fresh, as buying a new one is going to be an extremely expensive affair. Here we have one such video where a Type 2 Fortuner has been neatly modified with an aftermarket Spartan body kit.
The video has been shared by Autorounders on their YouTube channel. In this video, the customer had come to the shop for a modification and restoration job on his old Fortuner. The workshop suggested the Spartan body kit, which they have installed on several other SUVs in the past.
They took the car to the workshop and started removing all the body panels. The bonnet, bumper, headlamps, fenders, rear bumper, and tail lamps were all removed from the vehicle.
It was then completely stripped, and the workers checked for dents and fixed them too. They dummy-fitted the body kit first and, once they were happy with the fitment, removed it and took it to the body shop to check for small scratches and dents.
They did putty work and gave the surface an even finish. They even sanded off the excess putty to give it a clean look. After this, the whole vehicle was given a thorough wash and then taken to the paint booth. The customer also wanted a new shade for the vehicle, and they finalized the Dravit Grey shade, which is usually seen on BMWs.
The whole SUV was given a paint job, and the final look of the SUV was worth the wait. It looks stealthy in the deep grey shade and comes with a muscular bonnet scoop and fender flares, which add to the width and overall stance of the vehicle.
As part of the modification, Autorounders installed aftermarket projector headlamps and LC-type aftermarket all-LED tail lamps. The stock wheels were also replaced with 18-inch aftermarket units wrapped in off-road-spec tyres of the same size.
As part of the conversion, the owner also wanted to update the cabin. It now comes with a tan-and-black dual-tone interior with an all-black roof lining. The custom-made seat covers offer utmost comfort to the driver and occupants. Apart from that, we also see an aftermarket touchscreen infotainment system along with other features like a 360-degree camera, 7D mats, and carbon-fibre inserts on the door, centre console, and steering wheel. It is even getting a genuine leather-wrapped steering wheel to give it a premium look.
The SUV, with all these changes, definitely looks unique, and it is actually a great idea for those who have a soft corner for their old Toyotas and want to keep them for a longer period of time.
