Tyson Fury reveals 2026 comeback inspired by Anthony Joshua’s tragic incident
Boxing legend Tyson Fury is ready to make his comeback to the boxing ring in 2026, but this time, his inspiration is a tragic incident that left everyone shocked.
During a press conference at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, “The Gypsy King” revealed that Anthony Joshua’s car accident changed his perspective on life and retirement.
The accident occurred in Nigeria following an exhibition match with Jake Paul. Joshua suffered minor injuries, but two of his close aides and trainers, Sina Ghami and Latif, lost their lives.
After being beaten by Oleksandr Usyk, Fury announced his retirement in 2024. He was in Thailand enjoying a vacation when the car incident happened.
Reflecting on the tragedy, Fury said, “I hear all that bad news that’s gone on and I thought, you know what, life is very short, very precious and very fragile.”
Further adding that waiting for the perfect time to fight is a mistake. “Tomorrow is a mystery; we have to live for today. Me living for that day, I made my mind up there and then that I’m going to come back to boxing because it’s something that I love.”
The much-anticipated bout between Tyson Fury and Arslanbek Makhmudov is scheduled for April 2026. This time, he is coming back not for a title but for a bigger cause in his mind.
“The truth of the matter is I came back for one reason only, and that’s to make boxing great again.”
