U-turn of weather, strong storm and rain starts in Delhi-NCR
The weather patterns have suddenly changed in Delhi and NCR. Since this afternoon, many areas of the city were covered with dense clouds and at some places it also rained with strong thunderstorms. After the arrival of clouds in the afternoon, it seemed as if evening had arrived. The Meteorological Department had already predicted the possibility of rain in Delhi-NCR during the next three days. In this sequence, due to dense clouds in Delhi-NCR on Wednesday, there was darkness at many places and rain along with strong storm affected the normal life.
How will the weather be on March 19 and 20?
Due to bad weather, traffic jams also occurred in some areas. According to the Meteorological Department, it will be partly cloudy on March 19 and 20 and there is a possibility of light rain or thundershowers once or twice. These days the maximum temperature will be around 28-29 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will be around 16-17 degrees Celsius. On March 21, it will be cloudy with the possibility of light rain, while on March 22 and 23, the weather is expected to be mainly clear.
The reason for this sudden change in weather is Active Western Disturbance. The arrival of moist winds from the Mediterranean Sea into the plains created instability in the atmosphere, causing dense clouds and dust storms along with rain. This system is likely to remain active for the next 2-3 days, which will bring a drop in temperature and provide relief from the heat. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for March 20. The Meteorological Department estimates that intermittent rain will continue in Delhi-NCR for the next few days.
Possibility of moderate rain and snowfall in Himachal Pradesh
There is a possibility of light to moderate rain and snowfall at many places in Himachal Pradesh from March 18 to 20. Light rain or snowfall may also be seen in some areas on March 18 and 21. In the hilly districts of Uttarakhand, there was snowfall in the upper areas of Chamoli, while a drop in temperature was recorded in the lower areas.
Due to the impact of western disturbance in many parts of Rajasthan, there is a possibility of thunderstorm and rain with a speed of 40-50 km per hour during March 18-20 along with hailstorm. Warning of strong winds and rain along with thunder has been issued in some parts of Jodhpur, Bikaner, Ajmer, Jaipur, Bharatpur, Udaipur and Kota divisions.
