Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s storm of 171 runs, India made a strong start to the Asia Cup by defeating UAE by 234 runs.

In this match played at the ICC Academy in Dubai on Friday (12 December), the Indian team, batting first, scored a huge score of 433 runs in 50 overs. The biggest hero of India’s innings was Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who scored 171 runs in just 95 balls. His innings included 9 fours and 14 skyscraper sixes. Suryavanshi made a partnership of 212 runs with Aaron George (69 runs) and turned the entire tide of the match in India’s favour.

Apart from this, Vihaan Malhotra also strengthened the middle order by scoring 69 runs in 55 balls. At the same time, Vedant Trivedi (38), Abhigyan Kundu (32* runs, 17 balls) and Kanishk Chauhan (28 runs, 12 balls) batted stormily in the last overs, taking the score beyond 430.

For UAE, Yug Sharma and Uddish Suri got 2 wickets each, but they also proved to be very expensive.

While chasing the target, UAE had a very bad start and the team lost 6 wickets for 54 runs. Although Uddish Suri (78* runs, 106 balls) and Prithvi Madhu (50 runs) took the team to 199, but apart from this no batsman of the team could make much progress.

For India, Deepesh Devendran took 2 wickets, while Henil Patel, Kishan Singh, Khilan Patel and Vihaan Malhotra got 1 wicket each.

The overall result was that India U19 made a winning start in the tournament on the basis of excellent batting and sharp bowling in this match.
