Team India announced for U19 World Cup, Vaibhav Suryavanshi gets command for this tour, see the entire team

ICC U19 World Cup Team India: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the Indian team for the ICC Men’s U19 World Cup 2026. The command of the team will remain in the hands of Ayush Mhatre. Along with this, the board has also announced the Under-19 team for the limited-overs series against South Africa.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi will be the captain in the series to be played against South Africa. Ayush Mhatre will not be available for this series due to a wrist injury. This is the reason why young star Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been given the command of the team for the Africa tour.

Where will Ayush-Vihaan go for treatment?

BCCI has announced that Ayush Mhatre and Vihaan Malhotra have suffered wrist injuries and will not be able to travel for the South Africa tour. Both players will report to the BCCI Center of Excellence for further treatment of their injuries and will join the squad for the ICC Men’s Under-19 World Cup.

India’s first match will be held on January 5

The upcoming edition of the ICC Men’s U19 World Cup will have 16 teams, which will be divided into four groups. Five-time champions India (2000, 2008, 2012, 2018 and 2022) have been placed in Group B along with New Zealand, USA and Bangladesh. India will begin their campaign against USA on January 5 at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo. After this, the matches will be played against Bangladesh on 17 January and New Zealand on 24 January, both at the same venue.

All eyes will be on Vaibhav Suryavanshi

This time in the tournament, the eyes of all the teams will be towards Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Because Vaibhav Suryavanshi has created a stir in the cricket world by playing 7 explosive century innings this year. After scoring his first century in IPL 2025, he scored centuries in Youth Test and ODI. Along with this, he also scored a century while playing for India A and in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He has also scored brilliant centuries in Under-19 Asia Cup and Vijay Hazare Trophy.
