UAE confirms Moroccan contractor killed, five injured in Iranian missile attack in Bahrain

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has confirmed that a Moroccan civilian contractor working with its armed forces was killed during an Iranian missile strike in Bahrain. The incident, which also left five UAE personnel injured, marks a serious escalation in regional tensions.

According to a statement issued by the UAE Ministry of Defence on X, the contractor was on a routine mission in Bahrain when the attack occurred. The ministry described the incident as part of an missile strike targeting the kingdom.

In an official statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), the UAE Ministry of Defence expressed condolences: “The Ministry of Defence mourns one of the civilian contractors in the UAE Armed Forces, a Moroccan national, who was martyred during a routine mission in the sisterly Kingdom of Bahrain following an Iranian missile attack.”

The ministry wished the five injured personnel a speedy recovery.

Separately, the Bahrain Defence Force issued its own statement on X, confirming that a UAE serviceman was killed while performing duty during the Iranian attacks. It added that several Bahraini and UAE servicemen were wounded in the incident.

Context of the Iranian Attacks on Bahrain

This incident is part of ongoing Iranian missile and drone strikes targeting Bahrain and other Gulf countries amid regional tensions. Bahrain has faced repeated attacks, with its air defenses intercepting numerous projectiles aimed at military and civilian sites.
