UAE Rail Update: Trains will run from Abu Dhabi to Fujairah, comfort and premium class fares fixed

There is a big news for those traveling in UAE. Etihad Rail is now going to start its passenger train service, which will make it very easy to travel from one city to another. The company has released information about ticket categories and fares. If you live in UAE or travel here frequently, this feature will save both your time and money.

When will the train service start?

Etihad Rail will start its passenger service in different phases. Firstly, on 30 June 2026, the train will run from Abu Dhabi’s Mohammed Bin Zayed City Station to Fujairah. After this, Dubai and Al Dhaid stations will be connected on 30 September 2026. The stations in Al Dhafra region will open on 30 December 2026 and the entire route will be ready with the opening of Sharjah station on 30 March 2027. Booking of tickets has started from 23 June 2026 on the website and mobile app.

Fares and ticket classes

Passenger trains are mainly divided into two parts: comfort class and premium class. Initial fares have been fixed for the Abu Dhabi to Fujairah route. On the occasion of launch, 50% discount is also being given on round-trip tickets.

What facilities will be available in the train

The speed of these trains will be up to 200 km per hour and 400 passengers will be able to travel in one train. Passengers will get free Wi-Fi facility in both classes. Premium class will have wider and reclining seats, more legroom and free snacks and drinks. Charging stations and entertainment systems have also been installed in trains.

For the convenience of passengers, the stations have been made like lifestyle hubs, where there will be cafes, restaurants and shopping shops. A separate fee will have to be paid for choosing a seat, changing the ticket or taking a refund.
