Congress MLA arrived in black clothes

Congress MLA Atif Akil reached the Assembly wearing black clothes in protest against the bill. Political rhetoric regarding this also intensified. Leaders of the ruling party called it protest politics, while Congress called its protest a democratic right.

Rameshwar Sharma hit back

BJP MLA Rameshwar Sharma reacted sharply to Congress’s protest. He said that the problems of some people are increasing due to the implementation of Uniform Civil Code and Congress is speaking the language of such people. He also said that whether someone wears black clothes or any other colour, it will not affect the government’s decision.

Congress raised questions on the process of UCC Bill

Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar and other Congress MLAs alleged that the bill was not included in the original agenda. He said that the government presented it in the House at the last moment through the supplementary agenda. Congress MLA Arif Masood also expressed strong objection to this process.

On behalf of the government, Minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang responded to the allegations of the opposition and described the process of presenting the bill as per the rules (UCC Bill).
