The POCSO-2 court in Udaipur, Rajasthan has given a historic verdict on Monday in the case of rape, murder and dismemberment of an 8-year-old girl. The court found the accused Kamlesh guilty and sentenced him to death. Holding the convict's parents responsible for destroying the evidence and helping him, he was sentenced to 4 years imprisonment. However, the couple had earlier filed a bail petition. In such a situation, he was granted bail.
In fact, last year on March 29, 2023, the girl's father had lodged a missing report at Mavli police station. In which he had told that his 8 year old daughter had come from school at 4 o'clock in the afternoon and after changing her dress, she left asking to go to her uncle. Since she did not return, the police started searching with the help of dog squad and on April 1, the victim's body was found lying in a sack in a ruin.
After this, the police detained the accused named Kamlesh on the basis of suspicion. Then the accused Kamlesh confessed to taking the girl home on the pretext of giving her chocolate, raping the girl and brutally killing her. Not only this, he had cut the girl's body including hands, legs and torso into 10 pieces, packed it in a sack and thrown it in a ruin about 200 meters away from the house.
The accused lived near the house of the deceased girl and the girl used to call the accused brother. And used to tie Rakhi on Raksha Bandhan. On the day of the incident, accused Kamlesh was alone at home and he was sitting at the window watching porn movies on mobile. Then, seeing the girl going to the fields, he lured her with chocolate and called her inside his house and took her to the bathroom. Then when the girl started screaming due to Kamlesh's actions, he stuffed a cloth in her mouth. Then after brutalizing the girl, he started picking her up, but the girl was lying limp and the accused thought she was dead and cut her into pieces.
