UEH launches three international exchange scholarship programs for 2026-2027

The University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) has announced three international exchange scholarship programs for the 2026-2027 academic year, targeting both domestic and international students.

The initiatives adopt a two-way approach, enabling UEH students to study at partner universities abroad while welcoming international students to Vietnam. The programs are designed to enhance academic exchange, diversify learning experiences, and support the development of skills needed in a globalized context.

Beyond financial support, the scholarships provide opportunities for students to gain international exposure, experience different cultures, and expand their academic and professional competencies.

For 2026-2027, UEH will implement three main scholarship programs.

The first is the international exchange scholarship for UEH students. This program allows UEH students to study at partner universities in countries including Austria, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand.

Each year, UEH provides 100 living allowance grants for students participating in exchange programs at institutions that do not offer financial support. The monthly allowance is VND2.6 million (approximately US$100) for programs in Asia and VND5.2 million (approximately US$200) for programs in other regions.

Credits earned abroad can be transferred back to UEH upon meeting academic requirements, ensuring that students’ study progress and graduation timelines remain on track.

The second program is exchange scholarship at UEH for international students. This program is open to students nominated by partner universities as well as independent applicants.

Participants receive full tuition coverage, free dormitory accommodation, and a monthly allowance of VND2.6 million (approximately US$100) during their study period at UEH.

The program enables international students to study and conduct research while gaining insight into Vietnam’s academic environment and socio-economic context. Students can also engage in academic and cultural exchange activities with local peers.

The third proram is full scholarship program for full-time international students, which supports international students pursuing full-degree programs at UEH.

The scholarship covers 100% of tuition fees, provides free accommodation, and includes a monthly allowance of VND2.6 million (approximately US$100) during official semesters. It also supports Vietnamese language training and certification where applicable.

Each year, UEH plans to award 100 scholarships across undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels, including 30 prioritized for students from Southeast Asia and low-income countries.

These scholarship programs form a key component of UEH’s internationalization strategy for 2026-2030. The university aims to establish a two-way academic ecosystem that connects global knowledge with local contexts.

Through this approach, UEH students can access international learning opportunities, while international students are encouraged to study and conduct research in Vietnam.

UEH implements this strategy through its “Glo-cal Education” model, which combines global academic standards with local relevance. The model seeks to create a multicultural learning environment and support students in developing long-term academic and career pathways.

Through these initiatives, UEH aims to expand international collaboration and strengthen its position as a regional education hub.
