There was a stir in African politics and diplomacy when Muhoozi Kainerugaba made a statement which shocked the world. Uganda’s army chief openly demanded 1 billion dollars from Turkey and the ‘most beautiful woman’ to be his wife.
This statement was not limited to just social media, but along with it he also threatened a deadline of 30 days and strict diplomatic consequences. Now the question is arising whether this is just a joke or a serious political message?
Why such a huge demand from Türkiye?

He wrote that ‘It is a very simple deal for Türkiye… either they pay us, or I close their embassy here.’
Is this the first time such a statement has come?
This is not the first time that Muhoozi Kainerugaba has made such controversial statements. In 2022, he had offered 100 cows to marry Giorgia Meloni. He also threatened that ‘if the Romans reject our cows, it means we will have to capture Rome.’ This year he also threatened to capture Nairobi. Due to these statements, his father and Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni even had to apologize.
