UGC is strict regarding fake degrees, warned students, issued important notice
University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued an important notice regarding fake degrees. Students, parents and general public have been prohibited from taking admission in such institutions which award degrees in violation of the rules. In the notice, the Commission has clarified that the degrees awarded by these institutions will neither be recognized, nor considered valid for the purpose of higher education or employment.
Under the UGC Act 1956, institutions are allowed to offer degrees or courses. But it has come to the notice of the Commission that there are many institutions which are awarding degrees without recognition. Taking admission in any such institute for higher education can have a negative impact on the career. Therefore, the Commission has advised all the students to visit the official website before taking admission in any university. It is advised to see the list of fake universities available on.
UGC gave this advice to students
If any university institution offers any academy program in violation of the UGC Act, it has been advised to inform the same to the UGC. email mailto:ugcampc@gmail.com Students can complain about such institutions. So that the Commission can take the strictest action against these institutions.
More than 30 universities in India are fake
Till now UGC has declared 32 universities across the country as fake. This list includes 12 institutions of Delhi. Uttar Pradesh is at second place with four universities. Two universities each in Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Puducherry and West Bengal have been declared fake. Whereas in Arunachal Pradesh, Haryana, Jharkhand and Rajasthan the number of fake universities is only one.
