New Delhi: The highly-anticipated Kannada film UI starring Upendra was released in theatres on December 20. Made on a massive budget of Rs 100 crore, the film is expected to do well at the box office. The psychological is expected to mint a majority of its earnings from Karnataka in comparison to other markets.
However, it seems that the Kannada film UI did not manage to earn, as expected. The film is expected to mint Rs 10 to Rs 15 crore on its opening day, however, the early trends hint otherwise. Let’s delve into more details!
UI box office collection
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film has managed to collected Rs 6.75 crore across its languages. As per early estimates on Sacnilk, the film minted Rs 6 crore from Kannada version, Rs 0.7 crore from Telugu version, Rs 0.04 crore from Tamil version, and Rs 0.01 crore from the Hindi version. The film had an overall occupancy of 66.63% in its Kannada version on its opening day. It is expected to cross the opening day collection of Upendra’s last release, Kabzaa, which earned over Rs 1 crore on its first day.

UI is a psychological thriller that narrates the story of a king and an extraordinary man, who through his master-minded plans takes over the entire town and become a dictator. The film also features Reeshma Nanaish, Sunny leone, Sadhu Kokila, Jisshu Sengupta, Murali Sharma, OAK Sundar, Indrajit Lankesh, Nidhi Subbaiah, Devaraj, Om Sai Prakash, Sharath Lohithaswa, Guruprasad, P Ravi Shanakr, and Achyuth Kumar.
