According to the latest news, the administration believes that if a family has a three-wheeler or four-wheeler—in which now e-rickshaw i.e. ‘Toto’ is also being counted—then that family can be considered financially ‘capable’. The government is now reluctant to count those families who are earning a decent monthly income through Toto, among the economically weaker section. The report states that if you have any commercial vehicle or motor vehicle registered in your name, your ‘Ujjwala Gas Connection’ can be closed after verification. There is no need to panic now! Often after such news, people get scared whether they will not get the cylinder from tomorrow itself? The truth is that verification work is still going on. ‘E-KYC’ of beneficiaries is being done in many states. The government wants to remove from the list the names of those fake or wrong people who have availed this facility by hiding the information. Whose connection will be safe? If there is no Toto in your house and your income is as per the poverty line rules, then you do not need to be afraid at all. Just keep one thing in mind that your KYC is updated. If you have a Toto in your house and are using it for business, then it is possible that in the coming time you will have to shift to a normal connection. The main objective of the government rules is that the share of the real ‘needy’ should not be snatched away by any influential person. So, if you are an e-rickshaw driver and running your own household, then definitely meet your nearest gas dealer and clarify what your documents say.
