Big statement by UK Prime Minister Starmer, said- This is not our war, we are ready to face all the storms

New Delhi. UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer warned on Wednesday that the ongoing conflict in Iran will affect the future of our country. He also stressed that Britain is ready to face its economic consequences. He said that no matter how terrible this storm is, we are fully prepared to face it. The British Prime Minister also reiterated that this is not our war and the UK will not get involved in it. Because it is not in our national interest. Expressing concern over rising inflation and the cost of living, Starmer said the most effective way to help reduce the cost of living in the UK is to reduce tensions in the Middle East and reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a vital gateway for energy.

Emphasizing diplomatic efforts, Prime Minister Keir Starmer said that for this purpose we are exploring every diplomatic avenue that is available to us. Starmer announced that Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper would convene a meeting of international partners. He announced that later this week the Foreign Secretary will host a meeting in which all countries will come together for the first time. In this meeting we will consider all possible diplomatic and political measures that we can adopt to restore freedom of maritime navigation. To ensure the safety of stranded ships and sailors and to resume movement of essential goods. He further said that the UK has already made large-scale adjustments. He said that the Foreign Secretary and the Finance Minister have met their counterparts in the G7. The Defense Secretary has been talking to our partners in the Middle East and the UK has now brought together 35 countries in its statement of intent. So that everyone can make joint efforts for maritime security in the Gulf region. Highlighting domestic measures, Starmer said, “Just look at what is happening today.” Today your electricity bills will reduce and this will happen because we took some important steps in the budget. No matter what happens in Iran, this price of electricity has now been fixed till July. These comments come at a time when rising tensions in the region are raising concerns about global energy supplies, especially through the strategically important Strait of Hormuz. Earlier, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese had said in his address to the nation that the coming few months may not be easy. Albanese said that on Monday the National Cabinet approved the National Fuel Security Plan. This scheme will help Australians if there is a serious disruption in fuel supply for a long period of time.
