Uma Bharti stuck at railway station, caught train after chain pulling, wrote letter
Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Uma Bharti wrote a letter to the Railway Minister on Sunday 12 April. In this she mentioned an incident that happened at Jhansi railway station, in which she almost missed catching her train. He has demanded immediate improvements in passenger safety, especially for the disabled, elderly and common passengers.
Uma Bharti wrote a detailed post on X. She told that she had reached the station much before the arrival of the train. In view of his physical condition, Jhansi Railway authorities had arranged for a battery-operated train, but while going from Platform 1 to Platform 4, his battery-operated train had to stop due to a passing train. After this, each cart got stuck on the track, which was removed by its security personnel. When she reached platform 4, the Punjab Mail train had already started. She wrote, ‘I don’t know who pulled the chain, but I sat in the train.’

System error
Uma Bharti did not blame any person. He said that this was not the fault of Jhansi Railway officials but it happened due to systemic deficiencies in the railway system. Everything was as per schedule, yet three-four minutes were wasted. He advised to check the CCTV footage of the station so that the entire matter can be clarified.
Had complained earlier also
This is not the first time. Uma Bharti had earlier complained about insensitivity towards passengers at Mathura station. Now she is going to meet the Railway Minister on both the incidents.
He expressed maximum concern about the common passengers. He wrote that leave me alone, but common people, disabled people, elderly people, passengers with heavy luggage, women with children in their lap are victims of such irregularities. He appealed that the railways should be modernized, but the old systems should also be kept an eye on. He told the Railway Minister to ‘pay attention to these irregularities.’
