Indian fast bowler underwent surgery before Champions Trophy, left the team in the middle of the domestic season
Sports Desk: Indian team's fast bowler Umesh Yadav is currently out of Team India. He got his surgery done during the domestic season itself. Now he is slowly recovering. He has given this information through social media. Umesh Yadav bowled brilliantly for Vidarbha in Ranji Trophy.
Umesh Yadav was last seen playing domestic cricket on 23 November 2024. He played for Vidarbha against Odisha in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy. He bowled only 1.1 overs in that match and took 1 wicket for 19 runs. Umesh Yadav had to undergo surgery in the middle of the Indian domestic season. After the surgery, he shared some pictures on Instagram.

While sharing the picture, Umesh Yadav wrote in the caption, “One month has passed, I have recovered and am ready to come back. See you all soon! Coming back stronger.” Umesh Yadav last played a first-class match in October 2024, when he played for Vidarbha against Andhra in a Ranji Trophy match. He bowled only 6.5 overs in the first innings and did not bowl a single ball in the second innings.

Umesh Yadav played his last match for India in June 2023. He took a total of 2 wickets in this test. He has played 57 test matches so far. During this period, he has 170 wickets in his name in 112 innings. His bowling average in Tests is 30.95. If we talk about ODI cricket, Umesh Yadav has also played 75 ODIs. In which he has taken 106 wickets. Apart from this, he has been successful in taking 12 wickets in 9 T20 matches.
Umesh Yadav will now start preparing for the next season. It will take some more time for Umesh to recover. In such a situation, all the domestic cricket matches will end. However, it remains to be seen whether he recovers by the time of IPL or not.
