Umpire Rohan Pandit: An unexpected incident happened with umpire Rohan Pandit in the fifth and final T20 match being played between India and South Africa. During the match, a shot by Sanju Samson hit the ball on the umpire’s right knee, due to which he fell on the ground. After being immediately checked by the physio, he could not stand for some time, but later returned to the field for umpiring.

In the match being played at Narendra Modi Stadium, South Africa won the toss and decided to bowl first. However, this decision did not prove beneficial for him. India’s openers Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson made a tremendous start and made a partnership of 63 runs for the first wicket.
Umpire injured by Sanju Samson’s shot
On the fourth ball of the 9th over of the Indian innings, Sanju Samson played a shot which dodged the hands of bowler Donovan Feria and went straight to the feet of umpire Rohan Pandit. The umpire appeared to be in a lot of pain and could not stand on his feet. He lay on the ground and waited for the physio. The physio immediately treated him, after which the umpire returned to the field.

Sanju Samson’s best innings
After this incident with the umpire, Sanju Samson could not stay at the crease for long. He was clean bowled on the first ball of the 10th over. Sanju scored a total of 37 runs in 22 balls, which included 4 fours and 2 sixes. Along with Tilak Verma, he also made a partnership of 34 runs in 21 balls.
Abhishek Sharma’s tremendous batting
Apart from Sanju Samson, opener Abhishek Sharma also played brilliantly. He scored 34 runs in 21 balls, which included 6 fours and a six. Abhishek’s fast and aggressive batting gave a strong start to India and took the team out of pressure.
