UN Chief Antonio Guterres condemned the US attack on MT Setubello in Oman, in which three Indian sailors were killed.

3 Indians killed in US attack : UN chief Antonio Guterres has condemned the attack on a Palau-flagged tanker off the coast of Oman. His spokesperson gave this information. On Wednesday, a Palau-flagged tanker, MT Settebello, was attacked, killing three of the 24 Indian sailors on board.

“…the point is that the Setebello tanker was attacked and a number of Indian sailors were killed. And this is an attack that was unequivocally condemned by the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO). And we fully support and approve that,” UN Secretary-General’s spokesman Stephane Dujarric said at the daily press briefing on Thursday. Dujarric was referring to a statement issued by IMO Secretary-General Arsenio Dominguez in which he expressed “deep sadness” and “strong condemnation” over the attack on the Palau-flagged tanker MT Setebello off the coast of Oman.

Let us tell you that 24 Indian sailors present on Marivex were also safely rescued by the Omani army, while three sailors were reported missing. Out of which the bodies of two sailors, deck cadet Aditya Sharma and engine fitter Shivanand Chaurasia of Deoria, Uttar Pradesh, had already been recovered. At the same time, Chief Engineer Patnala Suresh was earlier reported missing but his body has also been recovered.
