Beau Webster has been included in the squad following his recent good performances in red ball cricket, including the two-match series against India 'A'. In the unofficial 'Test' series against India 'A', Webster was the second-highest run-scorer for Australia A with 145 runs at an average of 72.50. Apart from this, he also took seven wickets at an average of less than 20.
The inclusion of Webster will further strengthen Australia's fast bowling capability and provide a strong back-up in place of Marsh. Marsh took part in the Perth Test and bowled 17 overs, which is his most bowling in a Test since the 2019 Oval Test. However, there is also a big question regarding Marsh's fitness. In such a situation, Webster can replace Marsh for the team.
The 30-year-old Webster has scored more than 5000 first-class runs and taken nearly 150 first-class wickets in his career. Let us tell you that India defeated host Australia by a record 295 runs in the Perth Test. The second Test between the two teams will start from December 6 in Adelaide.
