Unclaimed Parcel on Delhi–Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express Triggers Panic; RPF Removes Suspicious Package for Inspection

A major scare unfolded on Wednesday aboard the Delhi–Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express after an unclaimed parcel was discovered inside one of the coaches, triggering panic among passengers. The incident occurred while the train was passing through Jharkhand, prompting an immediate response from the Railway Protection Force (RPF).

According to preliminary information, passengers in the B1 coach noticed the suspicious package and alerted onboard RPF personnel. With no passenger coming forward to claim ownership, officers quickly cordoned off the area and carried out an initial assessment. The uncertainty surrounding the contents of the parcel added to rising tension inside the coach.

Sources said the Rajdhani Express was instructed to halt at the next major station to allow safe handling of the item. Upon arrival, RPF officials carefully offloaded the parcel and secured it for detailed examination. Only after the removal of the suspicious item was the train cleared to continue its journey toward Bhubaneswar.

Inside the coach, the sudden increase in security presence and movement created anxiety among travellers. Several passengers expressed concern as the RPF intensified monitoring around the area until the package was removed.

Authorities have yet to determine whether the parcel contains any hazardous material. As of the latest update, no individual has claimed ownership and the item remains under investigation.

Further details are awaited as the RPF continues to trace the source and nature of the suspicious package.
